Dr. Emily Stary is a proud Portland native with a deep passion for serving the pets and people of her home community. She began her academic journey at Portland State University before earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dedicated to expanding her ability to provide compassionate care, she pursued additional training in veterinary acupuncture to offer more treatment options for her patients.

Dr. Stary finds immense fulfillment in all aspects of veterinary medicine, particularly in solving complex medical cases, providing acupuncture therapy, and supporting senior pets with palliative care. She believes that building strong relationships with both animals and their caregivers is one of the most rewarding parts of her profession.

Outside of work, Dr. Stary and her husband enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest through hiking, biking, camping, and birdwatching. At home, they are entertained by their beloved guinea pig, Pig—also known as The Opinionated Potato. Dr. Stary feels incredibly fortunate to be living her dream career, helping animals live happier, healthier lives.
